GIVING Part 1

Hey, my beloved readers, thanks for always reading my blog. I know you are always blessed and I thank God for that. I have been wanting to write about Giving for a long time! Atlast!Let me just start right away.
Giving is quite a wide topic, I will do it in series. God has given each of us a gift, a blessing but because of our human nature we are never contended. Giving is not only going to the streets and giving a stranger 200 shs of your left over money,  Giving is not only for the "financial stable people",Giving is not giving your old clothes to the people in your village. Giving is way beyond that. You know God's children are always taught of the Lord, and one thing I have learnt about over time is  that God expands your boundaries when you give. If want God to take the limits off your blessing you have to take off the limits of your giving.
Giving means offering to help someone in trouble instead of promising to pray for them and actually forget when your prayer time comes. Giving is offering to help someone without them requesting it of you.Giving means loving people unconditionally. Love is expressed through giving! Any doubt about that? Giving is not limited to only giving to extremely poor people in the society but also strangers around you. We are all well versed with the story of the good samaritian(Luke 10;25-37), the good samaritan did everything possible to help the man who was attacked by robbers. The good samariatan didnot actually know this man, he found him on the road but he dressed him and took him to an inn on his account. Jesus is teaches us to love neighbours as we love ourselves if we want to inherit eternal life. This is a command from God therefore whatever it takes lets help people.
I am not saying dont give to the poor people. Actually, the Bible has nice scriptures about helping poor people maybe that's why is so common of us to want to help poor people. Proverbs 19;17,"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done." Did you know that you actually lend to the Lord when you help the poor people now if you are lending to the Lord how come you are giving the Lord old clothes? The Heart of  a giver is selfless!
Proverbs 28;27,"Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses." hehe not my words..these things are real.
....to be continued
God Bless you as we go through the giving series. Today surprise your roomate, your classmate, your neighbour with a giving.

4 UGLY TRUTHS GOSSIP REVEALS ABOUT US.

This edition is not mine but I felt i should share. Be Blessed.

The Lord was gracious to reveal to me how often I committed the sin of gossip and slander. In fact, it was so common that I did a Google search on “How do I know I’m gossiping?” It was hard for me to distinguish between what was just “telling a story” and what was gossip.
When I gossip or slander someone’s name, I keep sin alive that could otherwise possibly die.

Proverbs 26:20-22 (GNB) says, “Without wood, a fire goes out; without gossip, quarrelling stops.Charcoal keeps the embers glowing, wood keeps the fire burning, and troublemakers keep arguments alive. Gossip is so tasty! How we love to swallow it!”
Like in my example above, by using someone’s past sin to remind my best friend who I was talking about, I am making that sin live on through her. I am making it a part of her identity. And ultimately I am condemning her by nullifying the power of the Holy Spirit in her life who makes us a new creation when we are in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). My words prove that I believe Psalm 103:9-12 only applies to me – only my transgressions are removed as far as the east is from the west. However, every one else must be reminded of theirs and live them forever.
God has also revealed to me that gossip and slander are symptoms of a deeper issue within myself – an evil heart.
“Smooth lips with an evil heart are like glaze on an earthen vessel. A hateful person disguises himself with his speech and harbors deceit within. When he speaks graciously, don’t believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart. Though his hatred is concealed by deception, his evil will be revealed in the assembly.” (Proverbs 26:23-26; HCSB).
Gossip and slander reveal four truths about us:
1. They reveal our haughtiness. Haughtiness is the belief that you are better than someone else. When we resurrect others’ sins through gossip and slander, we are admitting that their sin is worse that our sin. So much worse that it can’t be forgiven or forgotten. Even something that’s not a sin, such as a comment like, “She doesn’t even cook dinner for her family anymore!” reveals a haughty spirit.
What we need to remember is that God hates haughty eyes (Proverbs 6:16). Haughtiness assumes that in our own self-righteousness we are obedient. However, apart from Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:5).
2. They reveal that we are trying to get ahead of someone at their expense. “’Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people. Do not try to get ahead at the cost of your neighbor's life, for I am the LORD’” (Leviticus 19:16; NLT). When we gossip and slander, we use someone else’s sin, misfortune, or their different choice, to remind ourselves of their seeming flaws to make us look better.
3. They reveal our insecurity. When we gossip and slander we are insecure in our choices and our identity in Christ. However, God has each of us on a distinct journey to accomplish His will. When we have a growing relationship with God – reading His word and talking to Him daily – we can be secure in our choices even when they are different from someone else’s.
Walking closely with God also reminds us how much we, too, are in need of a Savior. It’s impossible to be good or do good deeds apart from our Heavenly Father. This truth brings us rest. No longer do we have to try to achieve holiness in our own power, but we can rest in knowing that Jesus in us makes us holy. Our identity is in Jesus, not in ourselves or in how we look to other people.
4. They reveal our pride. Each of these – haughtiness, trying to get ahead, and insecurity – fall under the larger umbrella of pride. We are prideful in thinking we have to be better than others and that we can achieve any type of goodness apart from God. Any good within us comes from the grace of Jesus.
Now, when I’m tempted to gossip or slander, to tell that one juicy story that everyone will gasp over, I ask myself what are my true motives and what do they reveal about my heart. I want to join with God against sin; sharing in the grace He gives others and me. I do this by replacing gossip and slander with words that edify instead of destroy.

Have a Blessed week as you perfect yourself each new day!

This is MY Time.

Happy valentines. Now if there's anything that can trigger off my love emotions, its God's unconditional LOVE. I have been astonished one of these days about how Marvelous the King of Heaven is. You know how you can sit down when you have premonition and decide to contemplate about life, death, accomplishments, dreams and clearly you dont understand your own life. People have actually come up with sayings like life is hard, life is unfair but many times I am forced to think about these questions; Who made life? What determines if your life is fair or good or easy or hard? Human race has come up with standards of what good life is. But right now, with my personal experience, I believe life is the best opportunity God has given us. In this life of mine, I have learnt that if life was a smooth road then probably I would call it unfair or hard. Variety is always beautiful. When you are cast down with burdens that overwhelm you always remember to ask God,what He wants you to learn. Hard times are usually God's way of wanting you to draw close to Him. In the reverse there is nothing amazing when the Lord remembers you. When he turns your life around, He takes away the mourning and makes you dance and just shout for joy . God will always gives us joy for He is good. It is the best time of our lives as we declare His Love( God). Its your moment to lift His name. You can always count on the love of God, Romans 8;38 says that nothing can be able separate us from the love of God. Joel 2;25," I will repay for the years the locusts have eaten, the great locust and the young locust, the other locust and the locust swarm,my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God.", this verse tells us that the Lord surely sees our trouble, our misery and the beautiful thing is God makes all things work together for our good.(Romans 8; 28) When your time comes the Lord will answer and bless for each of the locusts, young great and swarm. So if you are going through a hard time just remember your time is coming and when it comes you will say, THIS IS MY TIME. Hang in there and  seek His Face. Even Job in the Bible God gave him as twice as he had before.(Job 42;10) God will do something you have never seen before. Personally,  I remember I reached a point of thinking my life was going to be hard all through but when my time came trust me, I do know that this is real. The fruits of this hard life are nice. The Lord has put a smile on face, the Lord has put me beside still waters, I dont beg for bread, I live a live of favour. I will not forget to Shout out his praise every new morning, thats how amazing it is. Many times the reason why we keep having hard times is because when we are out of it we forget about God shortly after our lives are made whole again. So even the Lord has remebered you dont forget to thank Him and praise His Holy Name. God is the author of life, He deserves to be part of your life.
God is the lover of my Life for ever.
Love you too
Stay Blessed
Hope Jakisa

One down, eleven more to go!

On 1st January or the night of 31st December, we have new goals for the new year, we feel like the new has come and the old is past. We make new year resolutions, new plans new everything, two weeks down the road while we are trekking on that path in the hot month we forget we are not the same people we were the previous year and start leaving our previous life. One month down the road, we forget its the new year and where the heck are the resolutions? God remains faihful even when we are unfaithful. Lets learn to intergrate God in our new year resolutions we need God to help us leave our dreams.  Many times i think we dont live to our new resolutions because we are busy looking for perfection, making very outrageous goals and over dreaming. When making new resolutions keep it simple, achievable and toned down. Always start small, climbing ladders will not be a problem. hehehe as the saying baby steps . Rome wasnt built in one day.
We know ourselves better than anyone else hehe incase you dont know ask your friend. Lets be outstanding this 2015 even when one month is down and we have eleven months to go, lets keep ticking off our new year resolution list. We dont have to be moving in circles having the same new year resolutions every new year because we failed to achieve them in the previous year. Lets look forward trusting God to be our Guide. Life is journey we need each other, lets pick up our friends, relatives and work hard to achieve our resoultions. You need to be better each year as you grow. Don't just grow only physically but spiritually morally, emotionally.
God Bless you as you achieve all your new year resolutions in the remaining eleven months because you have great amazing things in the inside of you.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

This edition is dedicated to all my true friends especially my three girls.(Samie,Mimi and Mercy) and my dear Gracie the one i call my mummie. I could take a day talking about these girls. You mean so much to mean. You girls are a blessing to me.
When someone says friend i dont mean people you tell hi or someone you share a room with or your classmate but someone who even if there are thousands reasons to give up, they will find one reason to hold on. They make the biggest difference because of the small things they do consistently. They dont judge you, they dont talk about you until they talked with you. They dont underestimate what you can do. They accept you for who you are. They do anything to see you smile. They lavish you with love no matter what including loving your more than themselves. They are happy for your successes and wish you the very best. They pick you up when you fall. They nurture you. They mold you. They jump rivers for you if even you jump puddles for them.
Friends are kept in the heart forever because true friends are hard to find. Friends are usually a blessing. So if your friends dont have any of these qualities hehe you may have to reconsider lol or try to be the that kind of friend and the world will be a better place to live in.
